Later that night, I met up with an old friend from a biking trip I took through Europe when I was a rising senior in high school (with the amazing program AAVE, which is now Bold Earth). We were actually such bad asses on the trip – we biked from Amsterdam to Paris! My friend, Maggie, and I haven’t seen each other since the trip, so it was neuken in keuken seeing her. Here’s a shot of us on the trip, and then one we got when we saw each other last Thursday. Missed you Maggie!
Last Friday, after work, fellow interns Zoe and Dakota met up with me at The Park, a trendy and gorgeous restaurant that is essentially a greenhouse.
The photo below was taken by the lovely Dakota Isaacs, who also is keeping a blog about her fabulous life interning in NYC. I asked the bartender for a drink that wouldn’t be too strong, and it still didn’t work out for me… when in doubt, Stella!
Walked home through Chelsea, and I couldn’t help but whip my (not-so-subtle) camera out.
I’ve got an Empire State Buildin’ pokin’ out (said in Fat Bastard’s voice from Austin Powers).
Walked by the coolest United States Post Office too! I wish they all looked like this.
Later that Friday night, I went out with some fellow New Yorkers to a club called Pink Elephant.
I don’t have many positive things to say about the bar, besides these two lovely ladies!
The next day, a few of us decided to venture out into Times Square and saunter over to the motherland: FAO Schwarz and Dylan’s Candy Bar! Casually ran into my old friend, Justin, while walking over. He’s pretty over getting pictures with most people, but he made an exception for me since we’ve been so close for so long.
There was a sweet band with a Louisiana feel to it as we walked by, and I Vine’d them to the world.
A bus drove by that had people facing the windows out – so weird! So the whole one side was just windows. I tried to wave… no one waved back. Sad day.
These guys are pretty crazy – I attempted to capture how fast they can do these start to finish!
Definitely taking myself out to as many late show viewings as possible.
We eventually made our way over to Bergdorf Goodman. Hellll-ooo.
But no Louboutin shoe or Chanel bag could beat this sweet, sweet paradise. FAO Schweetz.
MIKE & IKE BAR. YEAH.
Can you say… heaven in a bar???? Cause I can. Red Velvet Cake chocolate bar.
No “Julia”s left. 🙁
May each step you take be sweet.
FUDGE ON FUDGE ON FUDGE.
I CAN’T HELP BUT TYPE IN ALL CAPS ABOUT ALL OF THIS BECAUSE I WAS ACTUALLY YELLING FROM EXCITEMENT THE ENTIRETY OF THIS VISIT.
YUP. PERFECT STORE.
To top off all of the sour gummies, we grabbed some free cookies from Insomnia Cookies. Literally. So good. They are called insomnia because get this: THEY DELIVER UNTIL 3 AM.
A little piece of Germany in NYC.
What are the best sweet treats you’ve encountered? And WHERE? I must know. I am starting a sweets charade around the city.
