101 Things in 1001 Days: Encore

I’m diving back in to another 101 things in 1001 days. LAWD GIVE ME STRENGTH.

Before we jump in to an entirely new list, let it first be said: I’ve allowed myself a little leeway room as I completed a few of the items on my first list after the expiration date. So I will be counting them on the first list. And that is final.

Fun fact: I sincerely dislike not finishing things. Even if I’m horrible at it, if I’ve started something, you best know that I will (eventually) complete it. Example: I started reading Stargirl and hated it so much, I put it down for six years. I found it my senior year of high school, and immediately had to read to the very last page. (BTW: I still hated it.)

So to start my second 101 things in 1001 days list off right, see below for a few of the items that were left lonely, yearning for a strikethrough and never earning one.

16. See/attend an awards show/stalk a red carpet. My creeper skills will be put to the ultimate test. & 68. Land my first gig.

I reported for Purpose 2 Play at the 2017 ESPYs! This was my first red carpet event reporting for an official outlet, instead of me just going rogue and showing up places. While not a horrible strategy, showing up to a party unannounced obviously doesn’t have as many perks as showing up invited.

Oh, and I’m counting this as my “land my first gig.” I reported at the ESPYs!

PS: Note the Nike Air Uptempos. Sneaker game on 100.

46. Go to Brazil to visit my family.

I went to Brazil! Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see any of my family, as the majority are in Rio Grande du Sul, which is the southern-most state.

53. Launch an interview series for my blog.

This has been one of my favorite things I’ve done. I started interviewing women in sports broadcasting, getting their insight and scoop on the business and what they recommend for those who are aspiring sportcasters. It’s growing from what I originally thought it was, and I’m really excited to share where it’s headed. See the ones I’ve done so far, and stay tuned. 😉

54. Move to the City of Angels, Los Angeles, and pursue my dream.

To be honest, I don’t really remember what my true “dream” was when I originally wrote this list over three years ago now, but I did move to LA. Feels good to be back on the Best Coast.

81. Watch every season of Sex in the City. I think Samantha is my alter ego.

This happened. I feel pretty good about it. But then I also watched the two movies… and I do not feel good about that. Also, Samantha is definitely not my alter ego (according to me). According to Cosmopolitan, I am a Charlotte, which tbh, is totally cool because she has four dogs.

82. Pay it forward – for someone, somewhere, I want to step in unexpectedly and help make their day a little easier.

A couple was moving into our building and I offered to help them unload. I also offered B’s help in unloading… which he was not as into as I was.

35. Find/do a beauty routine that works for me and reflects who I am.

Let’s be real here. I found this a long time ago, and it’s quite complex: shower, put lotion on face, blow-dry hair. Boom.

50. Make a giant breakfast meal!

Technically, I was counting large pancake meals I made for my roommates in CT for this, but since I have actually cooked up a rather impressive breakfast meal! B’s last name is O’Malley, meaning he is super Irish. His family always has big celebrations, so St. Patrick’s Day this year, I whipped up (meaning, I slaved over) a traditional Irish breakfast for him. Complete with Irish coffee, of course.

Stay tuned for a new list, and see the rest of the first list here.
